6 Inch Fluid Filled Gauge, Tong Torque & Tong Line Pull System Capacity Ranges From 10,000 Pounds To 30,000 Pounds Of Line Pull

Product Description

System Components and Principle

The tong torque system consists of three primary components: the tong torque load cell, the tong torque gauge (installed in the driller display), and the hydraulic hose.

Working Principle:
The load cell is installed in the wire line of the power tong. When the drill pipe screws, it creates a pulling force proportional to the tightening torque on the wire line rope. This force acts on hydraulic fluid through the load cell piston, transmitting it to the gauge's bourdon tube. As the bourdon tube moves, the pointer indicates the real-time force of the power tong.

For power tong or casing tongs, hydraulic pressure sources can be connected directly to the gauge without load cells in specific configurations.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between CTP and CTT series?
The CTP series is primarily used to indicate make-up or breakout torque in pounds of line pull for manual tongs, while the CTT series measures torque in foot-pounds specifically for power tong applications.
What measurement scales are available?
We provide several scale variations to meet international standards, including English (Imperial), Metric, and Dual Scale configurations.
Can I customize the hose length for my system?
Yes. While our standard lengths are 5 feet for the CTT series and 25 feet for the CTP series, custom hose lengths can be specified at the time of ordering.
What is the accuracy of these torque gauges?
The systems are designed with high precision, offering accuracy classes of 2.5% or 1.6% depending on the specific model and requirement.
Are the gauges protected against environment factors?
Yes, the systems feature 6" fluid-filled gauges which help dampen vibration and protect the internal movement from harsh oilfield environments.
Do you offer both tension and compression load cells?
Yes, we provide both tension and compression style load cells to suit all types of power tong and manual tong configurations.
